这是这样一个简单的菜谱,我想知道它even needed sharing but all of us have our own tips and tricks to bring out the best in each dish and it is always good to share. In this simple watermelon juice, I’ve added fresh mint (lots of it), lime juice and a pinch of black salt.
The sharpness of mint, the sour lime juice, and the strong black salt totally compliment the sweetness of the watermelon. Each adds its own flavor to the juice and together they blend into a beautifully refreshing drink.
While the weather is not helping us, we are surely helping ourselves to cold and refreshing treats. My favorite being devouring a watermelon, slice by slice :-). I bought a big watermelon over the weekend and after chilling it in the fridge for a night, we ate a quarter in the morning, I made西瓜冰沙with half and the remaining quarter was finished off in this refreshing watermelon juice with mint and lime during the evening.
I am not a big fan of adding ice to fresh juices and smoothies. I normally chill or freeze my ingredients, if there is time. In this recipe, I had kept the watermelon in the fridge overnight to chill. I used about ¼ of a big watermelon (roughly 600g/1pound of watermelon flesh). If you do not have time, use crushed or cubed ice.

Simple Watermelon juice with mint and lime
Ingredients (1cup = 240ml; 1tbsp = 15ml; 1tsp = 5ml)
- 4杯子s西瓜deseeded and chopped
- ½lime(juice of)
- 1捏black salt*
Blend the watermelon and mint to a puree in a blender or using a hand blender. Keep a few watermelon cubes and mint leaves aside for serving.
Add lime juice and a pinch of black salt. Blend just once more.
Empty into 2 tall serving glasses. Add a few watermelon cubes into each glass and garnish with mint leaves. Serve immediately.

- *Black salt is known for its cooling properties. In India, we sprinkle black salt over all fruit salads and especially watermelon. Use regular salt if you don’t have black salt or omit if you are cutting down on salt consumption.
